Snow show heads for Telford

Snow sports retailers will be heading to Telford early next year when a national exhibition comes to town.

Slide 2011 is organised by Snowsport Industries of Great Britain (SIGB) – the trade association for skiing and snowboarding.

The event will be held from February 21 to 23, at The International Centre, Telford, after transferring from Manchester where it has been held for many years.

President of SIGB, Damon Street, said: “The International Centre is a fantastic facility with a great deal to offer.

“Geographically it’s really well placed to service our national tradeshow, as it’s easily accessed by road or public transport.

“The added benefits of free parking and on-site hotel packages make it easy to visit and show at what I expect to be our most successful event for several years.

Show organiser, Lesley Beck, from Rare Management – who specialise in adventure sports events – said: “It’s exciting to move to a new venue after so many years in Manchester.

“And I’m confident that both exhibitors and retailers will enjoy the benefits of the new location.”

Owners of The International Centre – the Southwater Event Group – said they were very pleased to welcome the show to Telford.

Chief Executive Tom Gray said: “We are sure the event organisers, exhibitors and visitors to the show will be impressed with the facilities we have to offer, and we’re looking forward to helping make sure their event is a great success.”

Details on exhibiting will be announced later this month. SIGB is led by a 15-strong committee and currently has 200 member organisations from the retail, supplier and travel sectors of the industry.
