Weston Park’s head gardener has been named Professional Gardener of the Year 2006 in a top national gardening award. Martin Gee received the Horticulture Week accolade in recognition of his outstanding work in sustaining the historical gardens at the 17th Century former ancestral home of the Earls of Badford.
“I am delighted to win as there were some tough contenders who have such wonderfully kept gardens,” he says. “It’s so rewarding to see the pleasure it offers our visitors and I am always exploring new ways to add to their experience. My job gives me great satisfaction.”
