Staffordshire's profile as one of the leading conference and meeting venues in the UK is to be given a further boost with its first-ever appearance at International Confex, in London, between March 6th and 8th.

International Confex has unveiled its heavy weight education programme which will see four content-themed seminar theatres packed with authoritative and inspirational content.

Meet Birmingham, the official business tourism programme for the city, is marking the 30th birthday of its Convention Bureau (BCB) by launching its new 2012 Conference Guide and taking its strongest ever selection of partners to this year’s International Confex, the UK’s leading conference for event organisers.

Birmingham Convention Bureau (BCB) has been nominated in the ‘Best UK Convention Bureau’ category in the 2012 Meetings & Incentive Travel Industry Awards. BCB will face competition at the awards ceremony from Staffordshire Stoke on Trent Conference Bureau, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, Jersey Conference Bureau and NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau.

Unique Venues of London (UVL) has announced six new members will join its collection of dynamic events spaces, effective from this month.

After industry consultation, following the publication last October of the report on ‘UK Subvention Policy and Bid Support Practices for International Conferences’, The Business Visits & Events Partnership (BVEP) has put together a series of recommendations for consideration by John Penrose, MP, Minister for Tourism and other government and industry departments.
