Sodexo Prestige, in-house caterers at Perth Racecourse, has proved it’s still the front-runner when it comes to quality, by securing an additional five year contract with the venue.
Racecourse bosses extended the contract after a successful 12 year relationship which has led them to believe Sodexo Prestige is the clear favourite when it comes to providing a top-class service.
Catering for both race day and non race day events, the team of culinary experts plan to further enhance the hospitality and conference packages available at the venue. Sodexo Prestige believe that adjusting these packages will help to generate sales and drive more custom to the exclusive venue, whether it be to watch the races or to attend an exclusive event at Scotland’s most northerly racecourse.
David Trotter, Catering Services Director for Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events in Scotland, commented: “We are pleased to announce the five year extension of our contract at Perth Racecourse.
“We’ve provided the catering at the course for well over 10 years, but still recognise great potential for growth and expansion.
“Our intention is to ensure continued growth by providing hospitality guests with bespoke packages that have a strong focus on locally sourced produce. Our chefs will also continue to strive to design top, innovative menus that help sustain high levels of attendance on both race day and non-race day events.
“I think the main reasons why we have been so successful during our time at the course is the close relationship between Sodexo Prestige and the Racecourse team, our extremely loyal clients and our commitment to using high-quality, locally sourced food when possible.
“We hope this relationship continues to thrive over what will be a very busy five years at the venue.”
A main focus for Sodexo Prestige will be to build on the hospitality offered at key events such as Ladies Day, in order to encourage a rise in public attendance over the next five year period.
The catering specialists are confident that with many years of experience in the food and drink industry and with the use of fresh local produce in its menus, they can help secure greater numbers for significant events such as these.
Sam Morshead, General Manager at Perth Racecourse, said: “We are delighted to have extended our contract with Sodexo Prestige for a further five years.
“We believe that they are the very best when it comes to the provision of corporate hospitality in Scotland and put ‘Perthshire’ into every dish.
“The feedback we have had from our clients has been fantastic in recent years and we are confident that will continue to be the case.
“Together we look forward to pushing the boundaries in both quality of food and service for all our customer groups this year and in the years ahead.”
Perth Racecourse will be joining Sodexo Prestige in its support of this year’s ‘Year of Food and Drink’. The Racecourse plans to host several events which have a strong food and drink focus, as well as tailoring their menus, in order to show their support of local Scottish produce and suppliers.
