Two of Britain’s leading brands, Macdonald Hotels & Resorts and Thorntons chocolates, are set to partner this summer in celebration of all things ‘Classic’ and British.
The partnership, which comes ahead of the chocolatier’s launch of its new boxes of Classics chocolates in August, will see the two brands work together on a number of joint marketing initiatives between August and September.
Thorntons’ customers can expect to see a Macdonald Hotels competition highlighted in all 600 UK stores from August and Macdonald Hotels guests will also find Thorntons Classics on site during the two month period. The partnership is being launched at a Chocolate Extravaganza press event in July at The Randolph Hotel in Oxford, one of Macdonald Hotels’ five star properties. The launch will be attended by Keith Hurdman, Thorntons Master Chocolatier.
A series of competitions will run during the partnership, including weekend breaks, years’ supplies of Thorntons Classic chocolates and even an exclusive tour of the nation’s favourite chocolate factory, not usually open to the public.
The companies, who are both Britain’s leading brands in their respective fields, will also create a quintessentially British weekend away – the Classic British Break. Guests will be able to book a two night break with any of the hotel groups 40 four and five star properties in the UK, will experience the best of British food in the form of an English breakfast and traditional afternoon tea and will also receive a 330g box of Thorntons Classics chocolates.
