Brighton venue to get new hospitality supplier

Catering company Elior has won a £18 million deal to provide hospitality at the American Express Community Stadium.

Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club awarded the company the contract for the Brighton venue, which will now be responsible for the new ground's eight hospitality suites, as well as other locations around the club including kiosks and boxes.

Malcolm Fox, Elior's sales manager, told the Caterer that people were excited about the new venue, which is due to be completed in June 2012.

He noted that in the past, football clubs have only used their stadiums as sporting grounds but now more venues are starting to realise "there is a lot of business to be gained in the 300-plus non-match days in a year and the grounds had to be adapted to become conference and banqueting facilities".

He added: "The American Express Community Stadium is a conference and banqueting centre that will become a fantastic football stadium when there's a match."

Earlier this year, Elior said it had appointed Chris Sprague as managing director of Avenance's City and Corporate division.
