EVCOM's Summer Conference cut to one-day programme

EVCOM, the association for the Live Communications sector, has reduced its planned two-day, two-night Summer EVCOM event to a one-day conference at Olympia London on 17th September.

The events industry association was renamed following a merger between Eventia and IVCA in March. Although EVCOM plans to continue the Summer Eventia tradition, original plans for a two-day, two-night event were shelved in favour of a one-day programme of education, networking and discussion which will sit alongside a celebration and festival of art and entertainment.

Marco Forgione, Chief Executive of EVCOM, commented: “The Summer Eventia established itself as one of the key educational and networking events in the UK’s conference calendar, offering exceptional content and superb networking, and we did not want to lose this. We firmly believe there is still a need for this type of event in the educational calendar and look forward to producing Summer EVCOM this September.”

The theme of the event will be collaboration, tying in with the merger of the two associations, focusing on how the industry should work together along with what technologies, marketing methodologies and business practices exist to help foster success via collaboration.

Nick Graham, Head of Sales at Olympia London, said: “We are thrilled to work with EVCOM on this highly regarded and much anticipated event. We look forward to presenting Olympia’s strengths as an experiential and conference destination to the members of this vibrant new association.”

Delegates unable to attend the main conference programme can still buy a ticket for EVCOM Fest, which will take place during the evening of 17th September.

Eventia-IVCA was rebranded as EVCOM in March 2014 and is comprised of a variety of professionals, agencies, freelancers, destinations, production companies and suppliers - all working throughout the events and visual communication sector.
