Meet Oxfordshire invites conference and event organisers to Summer Showcase

Meet Oxfordshire has invited conference and event organisers from across the UK to a second Destination Showcase this summer. After a successful Garden Party at Rhodes House in 2013, the seasonal theme will continue this year with a Summer Showcase at the Saïd Business School in the heart of Oxford on Wednesday 13th August.

Over twenty venues and service providers will showcase the diversity of Oxford and Oxfordshire as a destination for business visits and events. Four Pillars Hotels, Oxford Malmaison, Bicester Village, The Old Swan and Minster Mill, Blenheim Palace, The Macdonald Randolph and Heythrop Park Resort are some of the exhibitors committed to appear at the event.

Two industry related workshops will run during the exhibition; ‘Networking skills’ hosted by First Class Learning & Development (recently announced as the new training provider to the Meetings Industry Association) and ‘Using social media for successful events’ with Graham Todd from digital marketing and training provider, Jo’s Correctional Facility.

De Vere Venues Heythrop Park Resort and their teambuilding provider, Off Limits Events, will be holding interactive team building activities during the exhibition to showcase new ideas for event organisers. The showcase event will also have an area dedicated to social programmes and incentives highlighting the unique activities on offer in Oxfordshire.

Meet Oxfordshire will be using this year’s Summer Showcase to launch several new themed incentive itineraries with a VIP familiarisation visit for 10 specially selected event organisers.

Jo Butler, Head of Marketing and Development at Experience Oxfordshire, commented: “We are thrilled to be bringing back our Summer Showcase to demonstrate the huge potential of our county as a choice destination for meetings and events. Business tourism is extremely beneficial to the local visitor economy and by working together with our partners we can demonstrate the many offerings that Oxford and Oxfordshire provides to conference and event organisers.”
