The Meetings Industry Association (mia) has entered into a partnership with International Confex for the 2015 show at Olympia, London, in February.
The mia will celebrate its 25th anniversary next year and the association will mark the silver date by holding its first major event of the year, its 25th Annual General Meeting, at International Confex, the UK’s leading event for the UK meetings and events industry.
In addition, the exhibition floor will see the popular AIM Pavilion expanded. Venues and destinations on the AIM Pavilion will all be ‘AIM accredited’ which is the mia's accreditation process that provides an assurance of excellence among venues and industry suppliers.
AIM is the only accreditation scheme broadly accepted throughout the industry that helps guide buyers and booking agents in their search for quality venues and suppliers, as well as providing an audit trail to meet stringent procurement demands.
mia Chief Executive Jane Longhurst, commented on the partnership: “We hope to develop our presence further; Confex is a great national platform for our members and we look forward to another stimulating show and to contributing to the education programme also.”
Confex Event Director Liz Agostini added: “It’s great to have the support from the mia. We look forward to working together to grow the AIM Pavilion, supplying the industry with great educational content and celebrating 25 fantastic years of the mia with an outstanding AGM alongside International Confex 2015.”
International Confex, owned by Mash Media, will co-locate with The Event Production Show in 2015. The show takes place from 18th to 19th February 2015, at Olympia London.
