Meeting Needs, the event industry foundation, is aiming to raise £250,000 through this year's Royal Parks Half Marathon, sponsored by runners and walkers taking part in October. The foundation has participated in the event annually for a decade.
Meeting Needs has signed up 28 participants so far and is looking for 12 more to complete the team. Trustee Kate Conway, who manages team participation each year, said: "We have a great team spirit among our participants... I am hoping to fill the remaining slots in the next few weeks so they have plenty of time left for raising cash."
