The Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) has launched its first three Specialty Certifications, covering incentive travel psychology, risk management and wellness. The credentials are aimed at giving members practical, on-demand education they can apply directly to their work.
The three certifications are The Psychology of Incentive Travel Planning, Risk Ready: Assessing and Reducing Risk in Incentive Travel, and Integrating Wellness into Event Planning. SITE says the launch responds to demand identified in its recent Member Needs Assessment for higher-level, practical learning.
The psychology course covers motivation, cognitive load, emotional response and memory as they apply to programme design and proposals. The risk course covers transport disruption, health and safety, supplier issues and crisis response planning. The wellness course covers selecting activities for different audiences, vetting suppliers and defining measurable outcomes.
All three are delivered virtually, self-paced, and award 1.00 CEU credit on completion. Registration costs $249 for SITE members and $375 for non-members. The certifications sit alongside SITE's existing Certified Incentive Specialist (CIS) and Certified Incentive Travel Professional (CITP) credentials.
Annette Gregg, CEO of SITE and SITE Foundation, said: "Our members have told us very clearly that they want education they can use straight away, and these certifications are a direct response."
