Bradford venues 'get multi-million pound boost'

Bradford venues could see a boost in the coming years as £250 million worth of regeneration building projects are either underway or about to start in the city.

Construction work is about to begin in Hamm Strasse, which will include a 100-bedroom three-star venue, according to the Telegraph and Argus.

The Property Group, which is developing the 36,000 square foot site, says five national hotel chains have already shown interest in the venture.

"We are very optimistic about the prospects for Bradford and for this project," Bobbie Johnson, a partner at the developer, tells the newspaper.

"Several hotel operators are showing interest in the hotel development," he adds.

Four other schemes were unveiled at the MIPM international property event in Cannes, France, including plans for three more venues.

Meanwhile, Bradford City Council has granted planning permission to McAleer and Rushe for building work to commence on a hotel with around 200 bedrooms.
