Famous Five Joins UVL

Unique Venues of London (UVL) has announced its membership for 2011, which is set to include five additional venues within the portfolio.

Effective from January, Fortnum & Mason, Fulham Palace, Lord’s Cricket Ground (owned by Marylebone Cricket Club), The Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising and The Saatchi Gallery, will sit alongside other iconic venues bringing UVL’s total membership to 72.

The new members, which include one of the oldest established retailers in London (Fortnum & Mason), the oldest palace in England (Fulham Palace), the most famous and historic cricket ground in the world (Lord’s Cricket Ground) and the largest collection of commercial art on display worldwide (The Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising), will together add a further 41 event spaces and over 13 acres of garden to the already diverse UVL portfolio.

Lisa Hatswell, Chairman of UVL and Sales and Corporate Events Manager at The Merlin Entertainments London Eye, comments: “We are delighted to welcome the newest members to UVL, which have been carefully selected to ensure we remain at the forefront of unusual venues in the capital. With the Olympic Games on the horizon, UVL is now better placed than ever to offer 2012 visitors a dynamic mix of history, heritage, landscape and culture, without which any event in London would be incomplete”.

Fiona Price, Head of Events for Saatchi Gallery, GSP Ltd, comments: “With UVL about to celebrate its 18th anniversary in 2011, we are thrilled to join the leading collection of London venues ahead of this landmark. We hope to add an extra dimension to the group and increase our exposure through UVL’s respected brand”.
