2ndJuly 26, UK: Lime Venue Portfolio (LVP) welcomed Martin Rhodes MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events, to its stand at The Meetings Show last week, where the group showcased the economic and social contribution of the UK meetings and events sector.
During the visit, Rhodes met venue partners and social impact suppliers including Change Please coffee and Flawsome! Drinks, both of which LVP works with as part of its approach to embedding social value into its events programme. The initiatives highlighted include efforts to tackle homelessness, reduce food waste and support more sustainable catering.
The visit also coincided with two significant launches from LVP at the show. The group introduced The AI Conversation, an open-source initiative exploring practical applications of AI in the events industry, and followed it with the launch of the LVP AI Hub, an AI-powered venue sourcing tool designed to help organisers find venues using natural language rather than traditional search filters.
Jo Austin, Sales Director at Lime Venue Portfolio, said: "Business events create economic value in communities across the UK, but they also have the opportunity to create meaningful social impact through the choices we make every day, whether that's the suppliers we champion, the food we serve or the innovation we're investing in."
