Leeds United was proud to welcome The Royal Navy and Marine Commandoes to Elland Road Stadium for their recent Recruitment Day.
Around 500 pupils from local Secondary Schools met with Royal Navy Divers, the Bomb Disposal Team, the Fleet Air Arm, Royal Marines Visibility Team and Sports Presentation Team.
The highlight of the day came with the Marines abseiling from the top of the East Stand and joining Leeds United’s own Lucas the Kop Kat for a display in unarmed combat at the front of the stadium. Naturally, Lucas came out on top!
The Conference & Exhibition Centre at Elland Road is one of the largest in the North of England and provided the ideal setting for such a diverse event. Offering great road links, plenty free onsite parking and a variety of suites to seat 2 – 800 and everywhere in between, Leeds United is the perfect choice for any event organiser.
The Royal Navy Diversity Awareness and Recruiting Manager said afterwards ‘Our event was a huge success and the impact was considerably increased by the use of Leeds United’s very impressive facilities. The assistance given to us by all your staff was invaluable and the whole day ran so smoothly. A Big Well Done from the Royal Navy!’
