University of Leicester commences major accommodation refurbishment

A major project to fully refurbish 145 en suite bedrooms has begun at Bowder Court, one of the University of Leicester’s accommodation areas in Oadby. The project will result in a complete refurbishment of all accommodation areas, including replacement bathrooms and kitchens.

Bowder Court was completed in 1992 and over the years has proven to be very popular with both students for self catered accommodation and many conference guests staying during the student vacation periods.

Currently rated as 3 star accommodation, the upgrade will complement Gilbert Murray Hall, the adjacent conference facilities which are currently going through complete redevelopment and set for completion at the end of 2011.

Trevor Miller, Conference Sales and Marketing Manager comments: “the upgrade of Bowder Court alongside the redeveloped conference facilities at Gilbert Murray will be a strong addition to our venue portfolio and provide our customers with an excellent conference facility. It’s great to see our site at Oadby receive further investment by the University showing its firm commitment to continuous improvement.”

The project is being managed in two phases and set for completion at the end of summer 2012.
