Friday 27th July saw the official opening of the Altitude 360° Viewing Gallery, London’s newest visitor attraction. The launch coincided with the arrival of the Olympic flame in London, which passed Altitude during its journey down the Thames on the Royal Barge, Gloriana. Guests enjoyed a premier vantage point of the festivities below, as well as spectacular views across London as the Olympic Games began.
The Empire state style viewing gallery will allow visitors the opportunity to take advantage of one of the capital’s finest vantage points, the top of Westminster’s Millbank Tower. Visitors will enjoy views stretching for miles from Altitude 360°, a venue which encompasses the top floor of London’s tallest riverside venue.
The premier viewing gallery benefits from 360 degree windows, so visitors will feast their eyes on views of the city from every angle. THE LONDON SKY BAR will even allow guests to toast the occasion, as they wander through the gallery.
Tours of the gallery include an exhibition and video art by Urban Explorers, the group of daredevil climbers famed for their recent unofficial ascent of The Shard. Urban Explorer Dr Garrett said: “The view of London from Altitude 360° is spectacular. The viewing gallery is the perfect height to appreciate the view without the distortion that can be the disadvantage of much higher buildings.”
Danielle Etzin, CEO said: “We are very excited about reopening our viewing gallery to the general public. It will offer a fantastic Empire State building style experience to London’s attractions this summer.”
So if you’re looking for a room with a view this summer, we’ve got just the thing!
Tickets for the Altitude 360° viewing gallery are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for children (5 to 12 years) and children under 5 are free. Tickets for the viewing gallery must be booked in advance.
