Body set up to promote Liverpool venues

A new organisation has been set up to help businesses hold conferences in Liverpool venues, a source reveals.

The Liverpool Convention Bureau aims to boost the popularity of the city and has been established by ACC Liverpool and The Mersey Partnership, the Liverpool Echo reports.

It will work to encourage businesses to use Liverpool venues for their events and is part of regeneration efforts aiming to contribute £200 million to the area's economy.

Lorraine Rogers, chief executive of TMP, which will run the body, tells the news provider that it will help boost Liverpool venues' contributions to the city.

She says: "We intend to provide a first class service that ultimately ensures business tourism generates significant income for the city region."

Earlier this month, Liverpool venue the BT Convention Centre announced that it will be hosting the Develop conference, a one-off event which will be taking place on November 5th.ADNFCR-1752-ID-19349088-ADNFCR
