One of London’s most stylish and unique event venues has marked an important milestone. LSO St Luke’s is celebrating 10 years since its transformation from a former church to a thriving events venue.
LSO St Luke’s is an 18th-century, Grade 1 listed Hawksmoor church. More commonly known as the home of the London Symphony Orchestra’s community and music education programme, LSO Discovery, it is also a popular venue in the heart of the city for events such as conferences, meetings, award ceremonies and gala dinners.
Over the last 10 years, LSO St Luke’s has welcomed many well-known names through its doors, including BFI, L’Oreal, Barclaycard Mercury Prize, Moorfields Eye Hospital, the Association of International Broadcasting and China Telecom, and its occupancy levels continue to rise as interest in its spaces increases.
Its largest space is the spectacular Jerwood Hall, which has a capacity of 450 people. For smaller or more intimate meetings, the Clore rooms have a capacity of up to 25 people. All its spaces have internet access and integrated AV equipment, and LSO St Luke’s works with a wide variety of approved suppliers and event management agencies to deliver successful events which meet client requirements whatever their needs.
To mark its 10th anniversary, LSO St Luke’s held a 12 day Birthday Festival which included appearances from the award-winning Aurora Orchestra and middle-eastern jazzer Dhafer Youssef as well as a host of concerts and activities toasting the LSO's education programme, masterclasses, community performances and a family open day.
Lucy Walker, Sales and Events Manager at LSO St Luke’s, comments: “In the 10 years since LSO St Luke’s opened, it has gone from strength to strength as an events venue. The space we have available can be used for all types of events - conferences, meetings, awards ceremonies and much more. Jerwood Hall is an ideal venue for any type of event and can be set up to suit a client’s requirements. And the diversity of events held highlights the flexibility of this space. As one of the city’s most unusual venues LSO St Luke’s has a wonderful atmosphere which makes it stand out from other venues. Interest in private events has increased which is raising our occupancy levels. As LSO St Luke’s popularity continues to grow we’re confident our success over the last 10 years as an event venue will continue.”
