Manchester venue secures Vascular Society AGM contract

Manchester Central Convention Complex has secured a three-year deal to host the Vascular Society's AGM from 2012 onwards.

The centre, which was formed through the amalgamation of the GMex and the Manchester International Convention Centre in 2007, last staged the event three years ago.

It will last four days and is expected to attract up to 800 delegates from around the world.

Jeanette Robey, chief executive of the Vascular Society, told Event Magazine that the venue's facilities are excellent.

"They have a lot of breakout rooms and the proximity of the exhibition hall to the auditorium really suits our needs and fits our style of event," she told the news provider.

Ms Robey added that the location was also a key factor in the society's decision to stage its AGM at Manchester Central.

The complex is currently in the final phase of a £28 million redevelopment programme which began in February 2008.
