The UK and Ireland Chapter of Meetings Professionals International will be launching a series of boot camps and MPI Learns events that will help qualify attendees for eligibility and prepare them for the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) qualification.
The exam can be sat in the UK, either Manchester or London, for the first time following a recent agreement with Prometric.
Liz Rice, VP of certification for MPI UK and Ireland and director at Metro Broadcast, commented: "The industry wants an independently accredited recognised certification that can raise peer acceptance, and MPI, as part of the CIC, is able to deliver the relevant education content.
"This is vital for those involved in Strategic Meetings Management Programmes and for anybody justifying the need and the value of events and meetings within their organisation, be they an agency or corporate buyer."
Miguel Neves, president of MPI UK and Ireland and community manager at IMEX Group, added: "We have held a number of Corporate Advisory Boards with input from a number of high-level blue chip corporate event organisers. This is not a simple exam or eligibility process. It has gravitas and the feedback from our corporate advisors is this is exactly what they want."
