The UK and Ireland Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) have announced the launch of the first MPI Advisory Board which has been created to drive new corporate membership. The Advisory Board is made up of corporate planners, who will provide the board with direction and feedback on ideas and future strategy.
As well as a renewed strategy MPI UK & Ireland will be adding MPI Learns and MPI Network sessions to their 2013/14 event programme.
Jane Baker, Commercial Director at Carlson Wagonlit Travel Meetings & Events and Head of MPI Events Committee, commented: "We have taken on feedback from all our valued members. In our strategy meeting last month, each of the teams presented their plans for their areas and we unanimously agreed our route forward. We now have a clear and coordinated approach to membership, education, marketing and sponsorship that we believe will help all of our members to become more successful.
"MPI members told us how critical education was to them so our event programme for the coming year will focus on knowledge and skills development through training. We’ve got interactive sessions from some of the industry’s leading experts on negotiation, presenting and being more assertive, as well as sharing the views and knowledge of some of our own industry experts, under a new event brand, MPI Learns."
MPI will also continue to hold a monthly networking event, using venues that will attract corporate planners, under a new brand, MPI Networks.
