New conference centre to add to Cheshire venues offering?

A new purpose-built conference centre and theatre could be built in Chester, if new plans come to fruition.

The Cheshire venues offering may be extended under proposals being put forward by luxury hotel owners Sanguine Hospitality Management.

Although it is early days, talks are currently under the way and "positive developments" are being made, Sanguine's public relations company, Oakbase PR, confirmed.

The hospitality firm already owns the Doubletree by Hilton Chester and The Club and Spa at Hoole Hall, but is looking to extend its offering in the area.

"We can confirm that … Sanguine Hospitality Ltd are looking into the opportunity to bring a conference venue and theatre to the city of Chester," read a statement from Oakbase PR.

Over in Merseyside, plans to create a new conference and wedding venue in Birkenhead Town Hall moved a step closer last month.

Wirral Council invited the Hamilton Partnership, which is behind the proposals to build The John Peel Centre in tribute to the legendary Heswall-born DJ, to submit a business plan.
