New Holiday Inn Express to open in Birmingham

A new Holiday Inn Express is set to open in Birmingham following the approval of plans by the local council.

Located at 1 Snow Hill Plaza, which is also known as the Kennedy Tower, the Birmingham venue will feature 224 bedrooms and a 500-seat conferencing centre, the Birmingham Post reports.

Alliance Planning submitted an application for the new hotel to Birmingham Council.

Keith Fenwick, director at Alliance Planning, said he was "delighted" that the application had been approved.

"It was particularly rewarding to hear the council's planning committee chairman recognise the work which had gone in to re-vitalising such an important gateway building," he told the newspaper.

Sanguine Hospitality, which owns the Holiday Inn Express brand, is also set to build a hotel, spa and restaurant at the new The Cube development in Birmingham.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Balfour Beatty subsidiary Multibuild would build a new Hampton by Hilton venue in Birmingham.ADNFCR-1752-ID-800503721-ADNFCR
