Having stormed the Insider Business Tourism - Destination Yorkshire Awards earlier this year, *Sheffield City Hall* could be in line for further award success, as the venue has been shortlisted in the category for *Excellence in Business Tourism* for the *White Rose Awards 2009*.
Now in its 21st year, the White Rose Awards, run by tourism agency Welcome to Yorkshire is widely recognised as one of the most spectacular tourism events of the year and will be held in October
Sheffield City Hall narrowly missed out at the awards last year, having been nominated in the same category. This year the venue will once again face stiff competition with the likes of Harrogate International Centre, The Queens Hotel Leeds, Bridlington Spa and the National Media Museum, Bradford amongst the other venues nominated in this category.
However, staff have already celebrated some award success this year, winning the *Insider Business Tourism Award 2009* for *Large Venue of the Year* and then taking home the *Grand Prix Prize* as the overall winner.
Last year Sheffield City Hall’s conferencing and events team were awarded the Hospitality Sheffield Award for Team of the Year. The venue was also named in The Independent’s Top 10 desirable conference destinations alongside Regency Hotel, London and Aston Villa Football Club.
