The International Centre, Telford, has netted a Silver Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
After an audit from official assessors, the Shropshire venue received the coveted tourism accreditation on its first attempt.
Commenting on the award, the venue's operations director Diane Austin said it was "incredible news", adding that it would not have been possible without the commitment of the staff.
"We're extremely proud to have been accredited with a Silver Award, and now we'll be working hard towards going for gold at the next audit in two years' time," she added.
The venue will now work on a number of measures including replacing old boilers with more efficient models and ensuring all toilets are low flush.
Hotels, guest houses and campus accommodation are among the venues which can win Green Tourism Business Scheme accreditation.
It was set up in 1997 to encourage businesses to be more environmentally friendly.
