Stuart Quin has announced his departure from the Harrogate International Centre (HIC) after more than 14 years at the event venue.
According to the HIC, Mr Quin has been "instrumental" in driving the Harrogate venue forward.
During his time at the HIC, he led the expansion of the venue's capacity through an additional events hall.
Mr Quin noted: "My time with HIC has been absorbing and productive and I am proud to be associated with a venue which has maintained, despite increasing competition, a loyal client base."
He added that "commitment to investment, the resilience of staff and the strong support of the local business community" should help ensure the venue comes out of recession in good shape.
Last month, a collection of Harrogate venues and associations said they were working together to ensure the town's events industry is not damaged by a recent fire at the Majestic Hotel.
Destination Harrogate, an association of the town's 12 leading hotels, and the HIC have pulled together to ensure event business remained in the Yorkshire location.
